Marketplace Of Ideas

Imagine a world where betting on what goes on around you is not just a gambling habit, but a game of skill.

Imagine that your democratically-earned vote really has become worthless. Your entire generation grew up like you, in places where their votes were plentiful and worthless individually, or outnumbered and worthless individually.

If you’re different, you get rounded down. It’s why we insist third parties sit down and stop siphoning attention. New ideas are too costly.

What is not costly is recording your bet. In fact, if no one is saying it, it’s especially cheap to buy in.

What if this voting were catching on, and it was starting to model ideas taking place in geopolitics? What if it were war and bombs and death itself, but that was just what was going on, so it was not eerie?

What if we didn’t trust mass media polling (even the good ones) to scry precious truth or talk about the ones they don’t like?

What if a Charisma Authoritarian ended the idea of statistical polling in favor of betting markets, where our party colors are anonymous like our names used to be, and our monies go where our mouths used to be?

Consider what it would mean in practice if your digital citizenship were your seed bank account, and your votes were now only counted if you were smart enough to survive spending them.

(I always argued they should have been teaching us speculative trading in those Home Ec classes. Goldens and Boomers were teaching us how to use a check book with our routing numbers printed all over it, instead of seeing what technology was about to do to Gen X and Millennials, and that Z and Alpha would find themselves in a market where speculation and virality are the only metrics for successful financing in a market where costs wildly outpaced traditional earnings.)

The federal government would get everything it wanted in centralization of voter registration, and it would try to prove itself right that it was the nerve center of identity.

I believe centralization at federal government is incoherent for human-centric systems where the market believes that you can find another market if you do not like the one you’re at.

If humans had this freedom of movement, then humans would be carriers of their own identities, with claims the federal government has transacted with. There may be no anonymity, but if you used your autonomy to go elsewhere in the world and adopted new citizenship, the transaction was facilitated by you yourself.

Were a federal institution acting as our data broker, then We Are As Property to them.

Betting markets as expression of democracy create all the required changes in People to discuss with their family and think ahead. There is incentive to be right, and there is risk of loss now too, actually.

Politics really is so lobotomized, locked up in interest groups, that we don’t actually have Representation in Our Democracy. Often they are a mimicry of ideas rather than a force of persuasion.

A betting market could even be seen as a peaceful civil protest to the news media machines which are paid to be reliably available for the ads they existentially must serve you, or siphon your income on a commitment.

Have you ever met a journalist whatever that is?

Have you ever been polled?

If you were polled, did they disqualify you for not answering certain demographic questions?

No one knows whose job it is to represent them, from city to county to state.

Religion and faith, first, became individualized, but voting may soon become a personal exercise, to use on a schedule or several times every day.

Household voting of this sort immediately steps into the MAGA fantasy of removing the right to vote from women. This is brightly represented in the kind of religious advisory company kept by Pete Hegseth. Traditionally, these men know who they deem the Head of any household.

Household-only voting is not necessary to the escalation, but it can be conceivably tried. If you are progressive, socialist or another ist, you should consider that the globbed vote to a partner’s is meant to reflect your actual movement power in the world. Under some lenses, it’s even shorthand for fidelity.

Without household control, though, the true individualist politics can begin. You now have an excuse to not know which Two Party avatar you support, because you practice politics by voting proactively.

A type of Driving Class of citizen may find it profitable to be paid for their vote, in diametric opposition to how we usually hear that phrase. Rather than being recruited for a specific vote, could you not be paid the betting rate for your voting opinion?

Would it not encourage early voting, and checking in with our bets and not just running our mouths for bets that haven’t been working?

Is a voting market not superior in every way?

There is much to antagonize about untested Crypto Democracy theories and the men who are dreaming them to life, but their plans require numerous steps, and this voting power is their first need, which will be set loose as a pattern on the world.

The Network State

Peter Thiel is a special breed. He announces anti-christs as he finds them in the world. He’s a proud accelerationist. He likes the Book of Revelation a lot, like his dream screenplay and he can see which parts he’ll be handling.

Thiel shall be a carrier for much that he envisions, but it will not be Thiel who is out there charismatically whipping your ZEDE’s crypto vote.

The short story is easy: Network State theory observes that there are no more frontiers, but that they could use a geopolitical peer’s land better, if the Contract Of Independence is just right.

There will be benefits, reasons why nations become enticed by intra-exports, possibly being much more reliable than the Tariff-stricken global stage.

Prototype charter cities we’re calling ZEDEs, Zones for Employment and Economic Development have been unleashed already, in law dating back to 2013.

Proposed by former World Bank executive and economist Paul Romer, these proposed cities are enclaves within lower-income nations that “promote economic growth” through privatization and the disposal of national regulations, while gifting major tax incentives for foreign nations to invest in businesses.

Special economic zones in Kenya, Bangladesh, and Ethiopia have faced criticism due to low wages, harsh working conditions, and threats to rights to free association and collective bargaining.

Romer, one of the initial proponents of ZEDEs in Honduras, expressed criticism in 2015 regarding the Honduran ZEDEs and their lack of accountability to local laws, and anti-democratic governance.

When Thiel speaks of Charisma States, he is picturing ZEDEs but successful, with enticing new branding and backing.

The Unitary Executive presently covets Greenland, a nation where we have so much leash we could impregnate their nation with ZEDEs and not even consult them.

Due to the seat of power these men possess at present, they can brand these as Little Americas, and run the ultimate Apprentice rat race for charismatic leaders to create interest in the crypto democracy model.

Fully autonomous, the zone would covet expansion, and could freely pursue political actions sympathetic in the host nation. They are embedded, and if successful on grand scales, may replace the host nation’s government.

Network State theory creates a world where aging host nations provide legacy governance at first, like national defense for its own survival interest.

However, at saturation, Network States can band together for geopolitical advantages, and survive the total collapse of traditional borders.

ZEDEs are a prototype of a thing that is meant to survive national extinction events, and the modern IP satellite network around Earth is expanding rapidly.

The Network State is post-sovereignty argument to rail against the impotent governments who allow themselves to get impregnated this way.

Once the autonomous state exists, it cannot be evicted without assertions of military force, or abandonment.

Greenland

Greenland will fall without Network State templates, but you should wonder whether our rival nations with less powerful global militaries could do with money and the injection of a satellite state within a nation with minerals.

As a candidate for mineral rights, it would be a juicy target for another, less force-projected asker, where we not there already banging their door down, and it didn’t start in 2016.

The United States has been pressuring Ukraine for carte blanche mineral rights, equity for the defense we could offer in lieu of spending packages from us.

Imagine that the Unitary Executive desires Ukraine the way it desires Greenland.

That would be hard. It knows that. The assets have been appraised though, and the deal is for those.

Close attention to Thiel as he promotes new sites will eventually reveal a great hook for choosing a site. Essentially, he is shopping for a staple industry to drive work, perhaps one that is failing is given away in a war situation. The ZEDE’s very presence becomes a signal to Ukraine and Russia that the ZEDE is now an invested party if future conflict erupts.

The first most powerful use of a ZEDE will be as a geopolitical weight put atop ground that has been claimed out from under its host. It will be not just a consulate, but a destination, where unregulated marketplaces can evolve without their host nation’s rules.

I think Ukraine, too, is too far along in its war for a ZEDE to appear, but it is uncanny that two candidate nations for impregnation have now been handled by the Unitary Executive. These are the headline wars, and ZEDEs are more likely to be deployed in B-conflicts, possibly mediated by Peace Board Inc.

We will not see the deals going through, the infrastructure investment, but it will appear in non-Americanized theaters of the economic land recapture. It will take place where non-US policies can be legitimized and adopted for the US to notice in due time.

China

For a very long time, China has invested in African economies, often owning the infrastructure if the local government crashes it.

For an equally long time, the United States has largely ignored similar strategies. It could be at last that future Network States from US entrepreneurs are an answer.

It could be that Network State theory is so powerful that China would adopt it too.

Network States may well codify law with their crypto direct democracies that allies them tightly to their founder’s nation, and it could be that this creates immediate new risks in negotiation for such a thing.

Not all Network States need be hostile takeovers. It may be that nations can start exporting leadership itself, and that is desired, or even obligated under a treaty.

The world over, we see water supplies challenged, and mineral rights inspected while we contemplate who on this planet can actually make good semiconductors at scale.

China or any nation can deploy Network States to take on specific complex imports. It may coherently roll together complex factors and trust them to a module of civilization to fetch what it needs from the outside world.

China’s possession of African industry could not be turned overnight into a war economy, and the force they could project would be China’s own. This is not the case for an embedded Network State, which could assess its own defense requirements.

However, China’s ability to export entrepreneurs should not be forgotten. They have a human resource advantage, and a young demographic they cannot get to work.

Network State models, however bastardized, can be implemented by the geopolitical superpowers with the most ease.

Network States, autonomous though they may seem, may well operate as loyalist outposts, led by a generation of humankind which has been locked away within ailing job economies.

Nations may start packing their peers’ land with frontier-seeking citizens who can create economic value in long terms.

India

India’s rocketing population gives it a similar opportunity with the export of economic governance across the world. Nations which reached superpower status late might find themselves running hot enough to skip development stages and go straight to Network States, alleviating domestic population pressure with a solution for the irregular economic viability of land in many nations that weren’t scoring big in decades long before.

Whatever role AI has in a Network State, the devoted human resources are the value driver. Indentured servitude passes for work in some areas, hard labor in other countries ambitious projects.

Imagine the difference between a hard labor grunt and emigration to a Network State. It could be an astonishingly good deal in a variety of ways, including a promise of stability.

Should Network States blossom suddenly like new flora upon civilization, management of crypto governments will become a powerful and in-demand skill as the definition of success is fought over.
